Management Background And Career
MVP President Joey Delgado built his first career in sports journalism, working first at The Miami News and then at other newspapers throughout Florida, North Dakota and California. Joey worked as a sports reporter, columnist and eventually Sports Editor of a daily newspaper owned by Gannett — The Salinas Californian.
In 2008, Joey was recruited by ESPN and left the West Coast to join ESPN’s Sports Information Group in Bristol, CT where among other duties, he managed direct oversight of ESPN’s famous BottomLine sports ticker. His main goal was to help evolve the ticker from scores and schedules into a storytelling platform, with actual quotes from movers and shakers in the sports world and breaking news alerts.
Joey left his career as an Associate Director at ESPN in 2011 to launch MVP.
Joey brings years of experience covering sports at all levels, from youth to high school to professional boxing to the NHL, to Memory to Video Productions and is a lifelong hockey player and coach.
